ABOUT
The presence of lakes and pine trees in Grunewald evokes a sense of home within me. Memories of the place I come from. Not physically. But here is no window. The romantic idea of merging with nature. I spot a blade of grass between the floorboards. Wie Du rufst in den Wald, ja so ruft sie zurück. Not true. Hirngespinste sind auch nur Wesen. Attempting to rediscover them. Many people next to me. Do plants die so that you might cry? Moja babcia pokazała mi, jak sadzić roślinę. I feel at home when I see stork nests. And two storks on the roof. I see blue and green when I close my eyes. The scarecrow is my friend now. Dwa serduszka, cztery oczy.

A symbiosis of human mind and a mystical pine creature narrating a fictional autobiographical story about the forest as place of trust and the memories of my grandfather, who told me about the importance of phantasy as his way to survive Auschwitz Birkenau.
